It is the beginning of summer and all of the Hittys are clamouring for new dresses. And since I always make extras, that means more dresses for you.
These dresses are made from 100% cotton quilting fabric that features red, pink and blue flowers on a light grey background.
The crossover dress is embellished with an organdy like ruffle on the hem of the sleeves that matches the grey background on the fabric.
(Oops, I see a thread that needs to be trimmed...I took these photos fast seconds before a thunderstorm broke overhead).
The bodices on both of these dresses are fully lined and the hems are hand-stitched. They are fully open in the back for ease of dressing and undressing and fasten closed with straight pin. You add your own snaps for a custom fit.
The Plain Jane version is small and will only fit smaller artist Hittys such as Hitty Dauphine who was carved from a Judy Brown blank; however, the crossover version is more versatile in size. Wrap it tighter on smaller Hittys or loosen it for our bigger-boned Raikes friends.
The Plain Jane version is not plain at all. Instead, the bodice is embellished with delicate machine embroidery across the front and on the sleeves.
Right now I have one each of these dresses made and available, but I have enough fabric to make at least two more dresses, so I have made them available in My Etsy Shop as a made to order item. Please check for availablility of fabric before ordering.
