Cement Factory...

We drove south this weekend on backroads. Somewhere between Saugerties and Catskill we passed this Cement Factory. We were unable to stop for photos, so these were taken from a moving car.Despite the focus, they have a certain je nais se quoi.

Creature Feature XXIX : Carolina Anole (Special Island Edition)

Moving inland in our Island series, today we will be featuring an Anole. I am not as pleased with these photos as I would like to be because this little guy was hanging out in the shadow of the house and without sunlight, delicate features and coloring are hard to capture.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I love the delicate blue coloring around his eye and his tiny little claws.

Creature Feature XXVIII : Sand Crabs (Special Island Edition)

I am not sure if our tiny crab from last week was a sand crab or not, but it seemed natural to feature my little sand crabs next.

These little guys dig holes in the sand. If you are patient and watch carefully, you can see them bring up the spare sand to dump outside of their holes.
