Oh, how I love wearing jewellry...
...I love making it as well.
This week I made five new necklaces for My Etsy Shop. Today I will share two of them with you. These pieces are playful and fun and I can't wait to show you.
The pendant is an antique sterling silver watch fob. One of my favorite things about both of these pieces is that the pendant is attached to the necklace by a sterling silver swivel clasp so you can exchange the pendant for another, or hang the watch fob from another chain when you want to wear a little something different.
Another thing I love about this necklace (and rest assured, I made a similar one for myself as well) is the mixed media chain. It is made up of several different components: a sterling silver chain, a piece of vintage rosary chain with glass turquoise beads, a stainless steel watch chain and a juicy pink glass bead link with a whimsical flower charm hanging from it.
The necklace closes on the side, for something a little different, with a sterling silver lobster clasp.
The "chain" measures 17 1/2 inches long and the pendant hangs down another 1 3/4 inches including the swivel clasp.
The second necklace features a shield with a gold crest.
The shield is also an antique sterling silver watch fob. It attaches to the chain with a sterling silver swivel clasp.
The chain for this necklace is also a mixed media chain which features a piece of vintage rosary chain with pink glass beads, a small length of sterling chain, vintage brass chain to bring out the gold tones in the pendant and a sterling silver link with a bright orange blown glass bead and a little lily-bell drop. It seems like a strange combination of elements, I know, but somehow it works.
It is a delightful combination of colors and metals...very playful.
This "chain" also fastens on the side with a vintage brass clasp.
The chain measures 16 3/4 inches, and the pendant hangs down another 1 3/4 inches if you include the clasp.
I will be listing both of these necklaces in My Etsy Shop this afternoon.
