Once upon a time there was a little wooden doll, only six and three-quarters inches tall, named Coco. Coco woke up one morning longing for something new and went on a long journey in search of new friends, family and adventure.
Out in the big world, the air was brisk and cold and snow fell around her as she walked through the silent woods, but the wind was at her back and she was warm inside her cozy woolen cloak.
In the woods, she found many curious things at which to look, but the dream of a warm fire and a gathering of friends spurred her on towards her goal.
Coco knew that at the end of the road she would find her hearts desire, true friends and unimaginable adventure.
Meanwhile, inside Weathertop, Hitty Too stoked the fire before curling up in her favorite armchair with a cup of hot chocolate to read her favorite Christmas story.
Hitty Dauphine, who was looking out the window at the time and admiring the gently falling snow, saw someone approaching from the edge of the woods.
"Hitty Too! I think we are about to receive a visitor!" Hitty Dauphine exclaimed. "Imagine anyone out traveling on a day like this."
And with that there was a sharp rap at the door.
"Come in! Come in!" Hitty Dauphine exclaimed to her new friend. "You must be cold and wet after walking through all that snow. Please warm yourself by the fire while we get you something warm to drink."
"Let me take your wrap while you make yourself at home by the fire." Offered Hitty Too.
After they got her settled with a hot cup of tea, Coco introduced herself to the girls and told them about her quest for new friends and adventure.
Hitty Dauphine recognized Coco's restlessness immediately. Having lost so many sisters to the quest for adventure and fairer shores, she could read the signs upon Coco's face and her heart felt tender towards her new friend. Hitty Dauphine understood that the desire to find the place and the people to whom one belongs is a strong and compelling one and she vowed in her heart to help her new friend if she could manage it.
"We'd be happy to help you find your new family. You've come to the right place. We know people." Hitty Dauphine promised her new friend. "And perhaps we can drum up a little adventure along the way."
"That would be wonderful!" Coco exclaimed.
At just that moment, Butterbean and friend came into the room with a handful of tickets.
"Dauphine, my friend and I are going to the circus this afternoon and we have some extra tickets. Would you and your friends like to come along?" She asked.
"Well, what do you think Coco, this could be the very kind of adventure for which you were looking. Would you like to go?" Asked Hitty Dauphine turning towards her new friend.
"I would like to go, very much." Coco replied.
"Then I think you have your answer Butterbean. We would love to join you." Hitty Dauphine replied. "But I think we need to let our new friend freshen up a bit after her long journey before we leave. Do we have a little time?"
"We sure do." Butterbean replied. "We don't need to leave for several hours. We'll come back to pick you guys up later."
Coco was excited to visit the circus. She'd always dreamed of seeing an elephant in real life.

This is a dream she and I share. I love elephants as well.
Stayed tuned for the next installment of this adventure later this evening. It will be posted at 6pm.
