Later that afternoon, the girls got dressed and ready for their trip to the circus.
As they approached the circus tent, Coco could hear fanciful music playing; she could see the lights twirling and hear the roar of the crowd. Her heart started to beat faster with the excitement and anticipation of what she might see inside the tent.
"You don't think we're missing anything, do you?" Asked Coco anxiously.
"No, I think we got here just in time!" Reassured Hitty Dauphine.
As the opening music started to play and the ringmaster stepped into the middle of the ring, the girls found their seats. The tent was packed. Everyone seemed to be charged with anticipation.
Coco's face was aglow as she leaned forward in her seat to get a better look.
First in the ring was a tiny but beautiful little acrobat doing tricks while riding on the back of an elephant.
"Oh, look at that Dauphine. I wish I could ride on an elephant's back, maybe I should join the circus." Coco sighed.
Hitty Dauphine just smiled. She had been thinking about Coco's quest and thought she had just the perfect adventure in mind, and it didn't involve joining the circus.
Up next was a fiersome tiger jumping through a firey hoop. Coco held her breath all the way through the act.
"What do tigers like to eat? Do they like little wooden dolls? Maybe I don't want to join the circus after all." She whispered to Hitty Too anxiously.
"Don't worry. We're too splintery to appeal to tigers." Hitty Too said confidently.
Just about then, the spotlight directed the audience's attention up into the rafters of the tent. Coco's eyes went wide at the sight of the daring young man on the flying trapeze.
Though that daring young man stole the show in Coco's eyes, all of the trapeze artists performed death defying acts and had the hushed crowd sitting on the edge of their seats. Coco was particularly impressed with their fancy costumes.
If Coco was scared of the tiger, she was even more frightened when she saw the Lion take the ring. He was bigger and fiercer than the tiger and had very long teeth. (However, he also had a rather friendly smile, don't you think?)
At the end of the performance, a tiny circus train raced around the outside of the ring to the delight of the crowd.
After the performance was over and the performers and animals had left the ring, the girls all chose souvenirs to take home to remind them of their trip to the circus.
Hitty Too chose a stuffed elephant to snuggle with, Hitty Dauphine chose an acrobatic monkey on a stick and Coco chose a fistful of shiny bobbing balloons.
"This was the best adventure yet!" Exclaimed Coco.
"Just wait!." Said Hitty Dauphine quietly.
There are just two episodes left. What does Hitty Dauphine have planned? You won't want to miss what happens next. Stayed tuned for Episode three airing first thing tomorrow morning. (It is important to note that no animals were hurt or inconvenienced in the making of this blog adventure.)
I am sorry I was late with this episode. I had some computer problems earlier today that prevented me from uploading my story. I will try to be more timely tomorrow.
