Hittys Dauphine and Evalina woke up this morning with a plan.
"I heard our carving mom mention that today is Earth Day!" Evalina said. " What is Earth Day?"
"According to Wikipedia, Earth Day was founded in 1970. It is a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment." Responded Hitty Dauphine.
"We should do something to celebrate it!" Squealed Evalina.
So the two of them gathered some friends and started brainstorming about what they could do to inspire awareness and protect the environment.
"I can recycle these cardboard boxes." Offered Hitty Too.
"Good idea!" Exclaimed Hitty Dauphine. "I will gather all the empty cans and bottles!"
"We could clean up our own environment." Offered Snowdrop.
"That is another great idea," said Hitty Too. "I will dust the furniture."
While Hitty Dauphine swept up the dirt pile and deposited it in the trash bucket, Evalina planted a few seedlings.
"Plants are really important to the environment." Evalina said.
All of the Hittys worked really hard to tidy up and freshen their abode.
Oh the rustling and swishing noises coming from Weathertop this fine day.
"What are we going to do with all of these?" Asked Evalina.
"Oh my!" Exclaimed Hitty Dauphine. "It looks like someone is nursing a serious addiction." (I admit it...I have developed a taste for crappy coffee drinks. But in my defense, it is much cheaper for me make my own mocha than it is for me to go out and purchase one, plus these are sugar-free.)
"I know!" Evalina squealed. "Let's ask our friends online and see what they think we could do with them!"
"Oh that is a good idea!" exclaimed Hitty Dauphine. "Although I think this can would make a really good boat."

Alternatively, if you cannot think of any good ways to re-use these cans, you can also tell me your favorite ways to reduce, recycle, repurpose and reuse or submit a photo of your Hittys, children, puppies or dolls protecting and preserving the environment! If you do not collect Hitty's, you can exchange the dress for something of equal value in my shop!
We will be accepting your suggestions until May 2nd (which, incidentally, is my birthday), at which time we will enter your name into a random generator to choose a lucky winner.
